About Us

Bay Centre Technology clinics

The BAY Centre runs three Technology clinics -

● Fridays, 11.00 - 13.00 (11.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the BAY Centre Training room,
● Fridays, 13.30 - 15.30 (1.30 pm - 3.30 pm) in the BAY Centre Training room  and -
● Thursdays, 09.30 - 11.30 in the U3A Community Centre next to the swimming pool.

It doesn’t matter what age you are or what computer knowledge you have, if you can’t do something or have a problem then come along to the clinic and we will do out best to sort it out. Most people bring their own laptops, tablets, phones, etc. along but we have laptops available for use at the clinic.

We don’t run formal teaching sessions. We sort out people’s problems one-to-one. It works best when people come in with specific problems (e.g. They don’t know how to get photos from their tablet to their laptop or their computer isn’t working properly).

We have 5 volunteers who try to sort out the problems. Between us, we have many years experience with computers. We can handle Windows systems. Apple systems, Android tablets and phones, iPads & iPhones, satnavs, toasters, etc. (well, maybe not the toasters but I’m expecting one to turn up sometime).

We charge £2 a session at the Bay Centre as we have to cover the cost of the room but you get a drink and biscuits halfway through the session.

The 2 hour session at the U3A Community Centre is run more along the lines of a drop-in clinic. Usually the problems are such that they can be solved well within a 2 hour period. We have two or three volunteers at the Community Centre session. There is no cost for a drop-in.

We also need volunteers  at our computer club, as well as clients.   Contact Mike on 07889 815860 for further information.
